The kingdom of Candoris is set in a futuristic world, and the default home to all Gleamstic. That means you can put your own Gleams into other worlds if you so desire- but their origin is here.

WORLD RULES
- These rules apply to Candoris and worlds. Not to Gleamstic as designs and characters. For that, you must follow the Gleamstic adoptable rules.
- The only species currently residing in Candoris are Humans, Hybrids and Gleamstic. New species may only be added by Cyleana.
- Therefore, characters in Candoris cannot interact with any species other than aforementioned, as it would destroy Candoris and its workings.
- Other species cannot use Candoris as a setting and cannot interact with a Gleamstic using the Candoris setting.
- Prompts mostly use Candoris as a setting, so other species may not take part.

- If you want interactions with other species, you are free to make AU (alternate universe) plots that use your own worlds and ideas.
- These AUs will get their own folder in the group.
- You may not make AU versions of Candoris. If you want to use the world we built for Gleams, play by it's rules.
- You can have AU plots and Candoris plots exist beside each other. However, they cannot mix as per the rule above.
- An AU plot does not mean your Gleamstic can have an AU design. It only means they can have a plot in a different setting. Gleamstic design changes fall under the normal edit rules. Gleamstic are always Gleamstic unless you undo them and show us the new design.

ABOUT SPECIES
Gleamstic may live in Candoris, but they aren't the original inhabitants. It was humans that built the kingdom, and it was humans that created hybrids (humans with animal traits). Gleamstic surfaced a few decades ago, rising from the Abyss and settling down to coexist with the others. While these three are commonly seen around, there are now a number of alien Gleamstic wandering the surface as well.

LOCATIONS
To get an overview on big locations/cities that are of importance, hover over the images below! If you want even more detail, check the purple links above! Of course, there are many more cities littered accross the country, so feel free to come up with your own- as long as they match the general feel and topic of Candoris!

Below
"Below" refers to everything located below the surface, aka down the Abyss. These places are primarily inhabited by Gleamstic.

The Abyss

The Abyss. A dark, seemingly endless ravine that has always been around- yet no one ever really knew what lay there. Tales of monsters and darkness and death prevailed, as very few humans and hybrids dared to live anywhere near it. No one ever descended far enough to discover the truth- the cradle of Gleamstic evolution. It splits the kingdom into two parts, but while huge, is not much of a hindrance anymore. Many brigdes have been built to cross it, and recently there have been efforts to make the bottom - and with that, Afterglow - more accessible.

Afterglow - City

Technically a kingdom of its own, large parts of Afterglow make up a city. Located at the very bottom of the Abyss, it's veiled in black. Plant live has developed to be bioluminiscent and provides a weak source of light and colors. Many Gleamstic residing here still posess a more tribal attire, and wearing glowing flowers as accessories is widely spread. Weird pits like the secret well litter some parts of this kingdom. While it is relatively safe for tourists to visit now, it's recommended to get a guide- most Gleamstic residing here still aren't as welcoming as their more modern relatives. While the buildings of Afterglow are fairly modern, built from glass and steel much like lumen, they forewent installing lights. This is simply not needed because everyone supplies their own glow.

Jungle of Red

Wandering the outskirts of the city, one will find a still considerably large jungle. It is often referred to as "the red jungle" or "jungle of red", thanks to the countless red glowing flowers you'll find around. In the past, this is where all Gleamstic resided, in tune with nature, living within smaller groups and tribes. With time though, they settled into the cities that spread so widely it now forms one major city. There are, however, still tribes like that in existence. The jungle is considered dangerous grounds thanks to predators and lack of light without a Gleamstic companion. Many of the plants are unsafe to eat as well.

The Hidden

Rumour has it that the Abyss houses more secrets than anyone thought so far. Dark silhouettes have been spotted at night, always at a safe distance, always watching. Naturally, this has led many to explore- especially those who enjoy a good, creepy tale. Three individuals emerged from caves that had been hidden from everyone, but they are people of little words.

The Caves the Hidden inhabit are a complex maze, pitch black and near impossible to navigate for an outsider. This is done on purpose, and Hidden have been caving their own tunnels as well over the years. Every Hidden Gleamstic owns a mask. This mask is usually never removed, expect when they are interacting with their own kind, and this can be seen as a sign of trust. They craft their masks themselves, and will exchange masks with their loved one. Generally, their societal structure is very similar to that of the remaining ancient Gleamstic tribes - but with a bigger tilt to violence and strict rules.

Above
"Above" refers to everything located above the surface, so within the kingdom of Candoris itself. These places are primarily inhabited by humans and hybrids, though many Gleamstic have moved here.

Lumen

LUMEN is  but one of the countless large cities littering the surface of the planet. It is, however, the most known one - perhaps due to the king residing there. Thanks to that, Lumen attracts many tourists and is home to 20 Million people and growing. [City inspiration]

Ma'al

Surprising to travelers, Lumen's east actually borders on to a forest. Life within nature this untouched isn't a preferred choice for most, but there are some individuals that prefer the quiet woods over the loud and bright cities. Unlike the forest bordering on Afterglow, this one is more conventional - a mix of needle and deciduous trees, albeit very large.

Firefly Grove

"The land of the fireflies" - Home to forest dwellers that tend to not meddle in other kingdom's business. They are content as they are, in tune with nature, and communicate mostly with other forest dwellers. The forest covering most of this country is called the Firefly Cove, or "Home". Settlements have been built within the trees, and hunting as well as growing crops is the number 1 occupation. These people are generally peaceful to a fault.

Amnis

Amnis is a bit of a special city- it lies on the shore and has become an important trade hotspot. While still big in its own right, this town goes without skyscrapers- instead building partly into the ocean. Above or below water, one can definitely find room. They say some people prefer to live on their ships though. It is also a popular place to spent holidays at.

Summerbound Islands

These islands are a popular holiday location. They are called summerbound because no other season than summer has ever reached them. The islands are littered with resorts, which may sometimes annoy locals, and sport beautiful ocean and palm tree scenery.

Ocelis

Ocelis is the biggest city that has ever been built fully underwater. It is rather new compared to cities on Candoris' surface, and was built by aquatic Gleamstic and Hybrids over the course of many years. To this day, it serves as a haven for those that wish to escape the crowds of big, modern cities. Visitors from the land are welcome, though expected to bring their own diving equipment. Some inhabitants of Ocelis think of themselves as a city state, but technically they still are Candoris citizens.

The north

Life has spread wide, and the far north is no exception. Cities up there are smaller compared to those on the mainland, mostly thanks to rough living conditions and freezing winds. The towns that do exists are no less modernized though- and clad in white. The north is special, as they have their own royal families, who are at the time accepted by Lumen's important figures. They do not have as big of an influence on the kingdom, despite sporting great wealth. They sit near the border to Iovredale and are equally accepted there.

Iovredale

Just past the border that The North marks lies another kingdom veiled in ice and snow...

Noxving

The city state of Noxving has been at peace with Candoris for decades now. They are highly militaristic and as such, people growing up there tend to adapt a serious and matter-of-fact attitude. While peace may last, many Candorians are still wary of Noxvians due to their advanced weaponary and strictly established military. In turn, many Noxvians view Candorians as weaklings.

The Silent Wastelands

This desert spans a whole country, and also serves as a country's namesake. Population here is low, due to the nearly unbearable heat during the day and cruelly cold nights. The people of The Silent Wastelands call themselves wanderers. They trade and move from one place to another, though there are said to be some exceptionally beautiful cities near water places...

This is a question about Lumen in particular but how long do you think it would take to travel from the outskirts of the Main City to the outskirts of Qui- would it be a distance people could travel often or even commute to different areas for work? ;v;
